ITWOR PARTY....

Postby Nicodemus » Mon Feb 15, 2010 3:43 pm

based on the understanding your all over england and have busy lives this is probably not the most acheveable or likely to occur idea... but i've organised a number music nights, gigs and party's and would be willing to set up a one off even that could potentially become annual though that is most unlikely...

i though a one off party / gathering for all itworians might be fun.... if enough people were interested... i could set up something quite nice in oxford in a venue i have some weight with, then hopefully with enough notice, say 4-6 plus months or so's warning people might actually come. or we could simply arrange something in london.
it would be special as im sure a lot of you had never met and i appreciate some people would not have the oppinon of traveling back that night and might have to stay in a B&B... but i think as a one off or anniversary dig, it could be pretty cool, meet people you don't see every often or at all, for the first and maybe last time. so as i kinda initial feeler, what do people think. i think with enough forward notice, it could be a fun and memorable experience... lu could bring along jewelery or t-shirts, other people could bring whatever, to sell or give away... it's do able, just needs enthusiasm......

ok ok that's cool and reasonably encouraging .... but would not be for sometime if or someone or some people got going with it anyway... plus we'd want some kind of big advertisement on the forum...well in advance. i was just curious about people's opinions on the concept really. it's very doable, easy in some ways not in others....

good good, it would be open to everyone, north , south , east and west.... it would be well advertised in advance... and people could arrange lefts and picks/ half way or all the way...maybe even arrange some competitions etc...if enough people are serious then we'll see what happens.....

Sounds good, but I can't manage anything on a Sunday, which is when most events take place.

Don't worry if and when it happens, there'll be soo much advanced notice... you'll have plenty of time to sort getting there, plus i'm sure a people nearer to the end location will get together to supply a bed/bunk/sofa or whatever if necessary...

well the only other option is to do one north and one south and people in the middle can choose... it would be cool to hold them on the same day... as a mark of community even if at a distance....but i think it should be get open whether in two locations or one...any more than one location would defeat the point....i'm a stubborn old git, if i want something to happen , if i just get a handful of interest, i can usually muster something.

If you held something in London, I'd definitely come. Further away it'd only be an unlikely maybe (biggest reason being more social anxiety sort of thing; at least in London I'm close to home, in a familiar place, etc.). But, obviously, if you arranged something for further away that'd be fine, I know that no one else from this forum lives in London (or not many, as I don't recall anyone mentioning living here).

I love your enthusiasm with all these ideas you keep having :D Its sounds great. A few of us have met before and it was so much fun. I dont have much free time but with advance notice would try and work something out.
