we have eeppers!

Postby cookielucylou » Fri Jul 16, 2010 2:50 pm

i'm looking to venture into the world of rat breeding so fliss(ramkin rats) has very nicely let me have a litter from my doe romany who she breed. I got in from work today to the sound of lots of chirping! Havn't looked at the kittens yet as mum and babies are well hidden in the nest, but this is romany's second litter so she knows what she is doing. Romany is a burmese top ear and daddy is devils advocote(addie) who is a re siamese dumbo. Should be an interesting mix of kittens with possibilities of burmese, russian blue burmese, re siamese and rbp siamese and possibily of kittens being dumbo and rex(think i got all that right)

well romany obviously has great genetics and has had a beautiful-and fairly even-litter. There are 4 girls who are a burmese top ear, 2 siamese dumbos and i think the last one is a top eared blue burmese. 2 boys are blue burmese dumbo and a burmese dumbo. The 2 that i think are blue burms are going back to the breeder to carry on their line and the other boy and one of the smeeze dumbo girlies are going to stay with me :D we did have a bit of a worrying time when the 2 days after giving birth romany started bleeding. Thankfuly she is ok now after we saw her deliver a 7th stillborn baby which must have got stuck.

Glad they are all doing well and mum is OK that does happen sometimes with a stillborn.

it did worry me when it happened as obviously i'm not experienced with that sort of thing. But it is a good learning curve for my own breeding plans.
